*billiards / horseshoes
*and a gated entrance
Palm Lake Co-Op, in south Florida is a 55+ community that is resident owned. Here, residents own both the home and the land. There is a $200 monthly maintenance fee that covers all of the amenities. It is gated and has its’ own Red Cross Hurricane Shelter. It is comprised of 900 beautifully groomed home sites. There are three clubhouses with large, heated pools and whirlpool spas. They even have their own fresh-water lake stocked with fish. On-site banking and a mobile library are also provided.
Palm Lake Co-Op is located close to Interstate 95 (exit #76) and the Turnpike. They are 5 miles from white sandy beaches and the Atlantic Ocean, and only 9 miles from the Palm Beach International Airport and directly across the street from the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital. Home sites here run about $30,000 and you must purchase your own manufactured home but there are homes there that are for sale that are already set up.
If you are considering a senior mobile home park in Florida, make sure to read up on all of the rules before you make your final decision. Most allow pets but have restrictions on their size. Also, Special Hurricane Insurance is an added expense and is required in most areas in Florida, even inland locations.
